This Week’s Message:
Science fiction is a genre of fiction dealing with imaginative content such as futuristic settings, futuristic science and technology, space travel, time travel, parallel universes, and extraterrestrial life. Sci-Fi, as it is often called, explores the potential consequences of scientific and other innovations, and has been called a “literature of ideas.” However, the conclusion of a recent study published in the Journal Science found that those who read, write and publish such literary fiction tend to perform better on tests measuring empathy, social perception and emotional intelligence. Is it the entertainment value its contribution to Literature or its social skills development potential. What is really driving science fiction’s Popularity?
